About Me

The eldest child migrating from Haiti at the age of 6, Mortel entered the United States without knowing the English language. He discovered his talent in the 6th grade and has pursued the art throughout his post-secondary school. He was a pioneer at Kennesaw State University as he hosted their first talent show "Night at The Apollo" a remake of New York's very own "Showtime at The Apollo". Mortel has also performed on stage along with gospel recording greats James Bignon, A7, members of The Clark sisters, and Anthony Lockett. Having a church theatre background, Mortel had faced adversity as it took him seven years to be represented by an agent. Mortel has recently worked for executive producers Jordan Peele and Jerry Bruckheimer alongside talents Jonathan Majors, Jurnee Smollett, and the late Michael K. Williams. His most recent roles have been on National Treasure (Disney+), LoveCraft Country (HBO), The Walking Dead (AMC), and ATL Homicide (TVOne).
